ABOUT Me

Ebrahim Shakeri, born in 1988, began his artistic journey seriously through acting, appearing in several short films. Alongside acting, he has always been passionate about painting and sculpture.

He later pursued academic studies at the University of Art in Tehran, majoring in Theatre with a focus on Dramatic Literature. During his university years, he gained valuable experience in stage design, puppetry, and theatre production, and collaborated closely with students from the visual arts department.

His first independent theatre production, titled “History of Circulation”, was created and performed using pop-up book techniques. The show was featured in several national and international festivals.

His second production, “Identity”, offered a distinct and experimental continuation of his artistic path in puppet theatre.

His latest work, “MAMMA”, was developed in 2024 during an artist residency at the Liz Puppet Art Colony (Artist in Residency 2024) in Taiwan.

Ebrahim has written several plays for both puppet theatre and traditional stage performance. Some of these have been published, while others remain unpublished. He is currently working on new projects in the field of puppetry.

All of Ebrahim’s artistic activities have been developed independently—both financially and conceptually—without affiliation to any governmental or private institutions. Nevertheless, he continues to collaborate with a wide range of artists, festivals, and cultural organizations, maintaining his artistic independence alongside active professional engagement.

He also teaches pop-up book techniques and has conducted numerous workshops in various cities and provinces across Iran in collaboration with ASSITEJ Iran. These workshops have also been hosted at universities and institutions such as Puppet House of Iran and other cultural centers, as well as presented in international events.
